ITANAGAR, Jan 30: Arunachal’s U-19 football team registered their second consecutive win with a 4-2 thrashing of Gujarat in the Junior National Football Championship for BC Roy Trophy (Tier-II) at Una, Himachal Pradesh, on Tuesday.
They beat Telengana 1-0 in their opening match on 28 January.
With six points from two matches, Arunachal need a mere draw in their third and last group match to advance into the semifinals. They will meet host Himachal Pradesh on 1 February.
The rest of the three teams in the group – Himachal Pradesh, Gujarat and Telengana – are on three points from equal (two) number of matches.
The two finalists will qualify for Tier -I of the championship.
