RONO HILLS, Jan 31: The three-day ‘Training of Trainers (ToT) Programme’ for NSS Programme Officers on youth and peace building concluded here on Wednesday.
The programme was jointly conducted by the Centre for Youth Development and Leadership Studies and Rajiv Gandhi National Institute of Youth Development, Sriperumbudur, Chennai at the RGU,
Addressing the valedictory session, Rajiv Gandhi National Institute of Youth Development, Assistant Professor, Dr Rambabu Botcha advised all NSS programme officers, who participated in the three days programme, to take it forward and capacitate large number of youth in the state.
The programme, which had Vasanthi Rajendran, Dr Rambabu Botcha, John Gangmei, Gomar Basar, Dr Kaushalendra Pratap Singh, Dr AK Pamdey and Dr Madhuparna as resource persons, covered important issues related to peace and conflict, such as understanding conflict, levels of conflict, factors influencing youth to involve in conflicts, techniques of conflict management, understanding peace, and role of various stakeholders in peace building.
RGU Vice-Chancellor Prof Tamo Mibang and Centre for Youth Development and Leadership Studies Chairperson, Dr Kaushalendra Pratap Singh also spoke on the occasion.
