TORU, Feb 6: Claiming that a 10-year-old boy suffered grievous injuries by electric shock when he happened to touch a live wire on 15 January in Mowa village in Papum Pare district, the Toru Circle Students’ Union has sought strict action against the erring site engineers for alleged dereliction of duty.
In a complaint letter the power department’s electrical circle 1 superintending engineer (E) in Naharlagun on Tuesday, the union alleged that despite repeated complaints to the site engineers (AE and JE) no action was initiated to address the issue.
Terming it ‘gross negligence on the part of the site engineers,’ the union demanded that the erring officials be transferred from Toru circle within this month.
