TAWANG, Feb 8: The Border Roads Organisation (BRO) has connected Mukto village with Teli after completing the formation cutting work at Khet village in Jang subdivision of Tawang district on Wednesday.
The Jang-Mukto-Teli road project was taken over by the BRO from the PWD in different stages from 2002 to 2007, to develop the road to Cl-9 specification to provide an alternative route to Tawang through the western axis.
The construction of the road was taken up under Project Vartak in different stretches from both Mukto and Teli ends.
‘While the road was completed between km 0.00-27.66 and km 36.68-50.84, the stretch between km 27.66-36.68 was held up due to some alignment related issues near Khet village. However, construction work on the original alignment of the road below Khet village was resumed in 2017,’ stated a BRO release.
