NAMSAI, Feb 9: Governor Dr BD Mishra reached Namsai on Friday, on the second day of his three-day tour of eastern Arunachal.
Interacting with the district’s HoDs in the deputy commissioner’s conference hall, the governor advised them to “set targets, be self-motivated and take self-action.”
He advised them to make their best efforts to ensure that the benefits of welfare schemes and programmes reach the targeted population.
“Assist the farmers to enhance farm production, get good prices, and introduce the best and new cash crops,” he said.
He also urged the officers to motivate the people to “break the peer link as the first step to fight the drug menace.”
The governor called for effective and optimum utilization of resources, and urged the officials to work positively for the welfare of the people.
While highlighting about the various developmental activities of the district, Deputy Chief Minister Chowna Mein credited the transformation of the district to the efforts of the Team Namsai. ‘It is the sincere and dedicated effort of everyone that today Namsai has risen in all developmental fronts.’
The DCM informed the governor that he has called for submission of innovative schemes and has proposed something new schemes from the various departments so that it could be incorporated in the budget scheduled in March.
DC R K Sharma also briefed the governor about the district. Planning Parliamentary Secretary Chow Zignu Namchoom was also present at the meeting.
