Bank employees demands arrest of killer(s), ex gratia for victim’s widow

Mebo murder case

ITANAGAR, Feb 9: The Arunachal Pradesh Rural Bank Employees’ Union (APRBEU) on Friday vehemently condemned the brutal murder of the cashier of the Rural Bank’s Mebo (East Siang) branch, Bomge Nyori, by unknown assailants.
Nyori was found dead in a pool of blood inside the bank on 7 February.
The APRBEU has demanded that the police immediately arrest those involved in the murder and give them exemplary punishment under the law.
‘The incident has created a fear psychosis among the Rural Bank staffs across the state. We strongly demand the police department to expedite the investigation and immediately arrest the culprits,’ the union said in a statement.
It also requested the state government to provide ex gratia to the widow of the deceased.
Expressing resentment over the lack of security at APRB branches across the state, the union demanded that the bank’s management ‘change their lackadaisical attitude towards the security of its employees’ and provide security at all the branches at the earliest.
The union meanwhile deeply mourned Nyori’s tragic and untimely demise, and prayed for the eternal peace of the departed soul.
