Kundra calls for realistic projects
YACHULI, Feb 10: Development Commissioner Ashish Kundra on Saturday advocated submitting schemes and proposals “that are realistic and help in bridging infrastructural gaps in the development process.”
Kundra said this while addressing a pre-budget consultation meeting with deputy commissioners, DPOs, agriculture and horticulture officers, progressive farmers, college principals, and KVK staff of the divisional commissioner (west) here in Lower Subansiri district.
“Emphasis should be given to human resource development to encourage entrepreneurship and generate a self sustainable economy,” Kundra said.
During the discussion that followed, the participants submitted need-based schemes for their districts, pertaining to the education sector, the health sector, agriculture & allied sectors, and the tourism sector.
Progressive farmers spoke about their activities and shared the problems they face at the ground level. They were unanimous in their demand for marketing linkages, cold storage facilities, machineries, tea processing units, and training on the latest agricultural technologies.
Kundra also reviewed various central schemes under the Sankalp Se Sidhi programme, and the status of the implementation of smart classrooms.
Finance Secretary YW Ringu, Planning Secretary Dr Joram Beda, Special Secretary (CMO) Himanshu Gupta, Planning Deputy Director Amitav Khundu, Planning Joint Director Okep Tayeng, and Divisional Commissioner (West) Gamli Padu also attended the meeting. (DIPRO)
