NAHARLAGUN, Feb 13: The selection trial conducted by the Tata Football Academy (TFA) at Rajiv Gandhi Stadium here on 13 February for inducting players into its Jamshedpur-based football academy received overwhelming response.
Altogether 156 enthusiastic young football players below 16 years of age from across the state turned up for the trial, which was conducted under the supervision of TFA-appointed coach Akhshay Das.
Impressed by the huge turnout and the abundant presence of raw football talent, Das said, “No doubt there are lots of promising young football players (in Arunachal Pradesh). The TFA is looking forward to extend every possible help to the Arunachal Pradesh Football Association in the development young footballers.”
He said the names of the selected candidates for the final trial (to be held at TFA later this year) will be declared in a day or two.
