ITANAGAR, Feb 14: The All East Kameng District Students’ Union (AEKDSU) has reiterated its demand for immediate justice to late Toko Yame’s family and sought speedy investigation of his death.
Yame had died under mysterious circumstance at Tawang on 16 September, 2017 after a clash broke out between students from the government higher secondary school and the Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya (JNV) Tawang.
AEKDSU members, led by its general secretary Nera Gumro called on the Director General of Police on Wednesday and reiterated the demand of early justice to the bereaved family.
The state government had earlier constituted an SIT to unearth the reason of death of young student. The union had also served 15 days ultimatum to the SP of the SIT on 5 January, 2018 expressing resentment over the slow pace of investigation in the case.
The union said that though five months have passed since the constitution of the SIT, it has failed to come up with any logical conclusion on the case.
The AEKDSU appealed for speedy investigation on the case to frame charge sheet against the culprits.
