NAMSAI, Feb 28: The NITI Aayog-appointed Prabharai Officer V K Dev, who is also additional Secretary cum DG of the Union Ministry of Skill Development, reviewed the progress of the ‘aspiration district’ Namsai in a meeting with all district heads and nodal officers at the DC’s conference hall here on Wednesday.
Namsai is among the 115 ‘Aspirational Districts’ of the country identified by the NITI Aayog for time bound transformation within 2022.
Namsai was identified based on key performance indicators.
With an aim to facilitate formulation of District Action Plan for improvement of KPIs (Key Performance Indicators) in various sectors, Dev reviewed the efforts of concerned departments, such as health and education, agri & allied sector, skill development and infrastructure sectors during the meeting.
He urged upon the officers of the departments to take up the transformational process on mission mode to meet the target set up by the NITI Aayog. He further informed that real-time monitoring of the progress made to improve the parameters shall be carried out by the NITI Aayog as well as the PMO.
He suggested the deputy commissioner to work out modalities for better coordination amongst ANM, ASHA and Anganwadi workers at ground level and to periodically review the outcome.
Dev further instructed all departmental heads in the district to take up the issues confronting the transformation with state heads of departments.
‘All possible help within the available resources will be provided to states by the central government for transformation of identified districts’, he said.
The district level officers of various departments informed the Prabhari officers about certain constraints in mobility, IT facilities, etc in the district.
A team of representatives of the UNICEF was also present in the meeting and put forward their suggestions in the health and nutrition sector.
Deputy Commissioner R K Sharma requested officers concerned to review progress on regular basis at departmental level and ensure submission of reports to the district administration and assured all possible help required to undertake such innovations and best practices, according to an official release.
