AALO, Mar 5: The NSS unit of Saint Francis De Sales College conducted its winter camp here at Logum-Jini village from 2 to 4 March, which saw the participation of 65 campers and five faculty members.
On the first day, after a short introduction session with the village elders and stakeholders, the campers set out for a cleaning spree, trimming the hedges along the village pathways. They also cleaned the entire drainage section of the village.
The volunteers were actively encouraged by the Panchayat leaders, gaon burahs, women and youth groups of the village.
In the evening, the NSS wing of the college organized a cultural show. The villagers also actively partook in it.
Day two of the camp started with a plantation drive, during which 120 gulmohar saplings were planted all around the village.
The afternoon session was dedicated to a fire safety drill, organized and moderated by the Fire Department of Aalo.
The third day of the camp witnessed games and sports activities.
