Haphazard earth cutting poses threat to school building

ITANAGAR, Mar 8: The All Kamle District Students’ Union (AKDSU) has claimed that haphazard land cutting and construction activities near the boundary of Government Higher Secondary School, Raga is posing a threat to the school building and appealed to the authorities not to carry out construction work before including all safety measures.
In a representation to the Ziro PWD Division, Executive Engineer on Tuesday, the union informed that the construction work has been carried under SIDF 2017-18 scheme against the Boori-Boot Ground of Raga.
“The haphazard earth cutting and land development activities near the said school campus endangers the school building and may lead to more damage in the future,” it stated and appealed to the EE not to float any tender or payment process against the aforementioned work without prior determining of all necessary safety measures.
Further, in a separate release on Thursday, the AKDSU expressed concern over the death of one Godak Taro, who reportedly died following wrong medication at Boasimla in Kamle district and appealed to the authorities to initiate free and fair investigation into the case.
It also strongly urged the DC, SP and the judicial magistrate to award stringent punishment to the alleged culprit involved.
