Legislative Assembly presses for early conclusion to Pinch case

ITANAGAR, Mar 9: There was consensus among the legislators as they pressed that the agency investigating the death of former Member Ngurang Pinch reach a logical conclusion on the case. The matter was first raised by Doimukh MLA cum Minister UD and Town Planning Nabam Rebia while participating on obituary references on 13th Session of Sixth Legislative Assembly on Friday.
Rebia’s submission was endorsed by other legislators including Tapang Taloh, Honchun Ngandam, Jarkar Gamlin, Pani Taram, Pakgna Wage, Wangki Lowang and Wanglindg Lowandong.
The majority of the members who participated in obituary reference felt that the government must ensure to expedite the investigation.
While responding to the concerns of the members, the Chief Minister Pema Khandu informed that his government has given two months time to investigating agency to finish the investigation.
“I have given direction to investigating agency to reach a logical conclusion on Late Pinch’s death case within two months, after consultation with Home Minister and Director General of Police” said CM Khandu.
“Let the final report come. If the aggrieved family is not satisfied with the SIT report, we would recommend it to a higher investigating agency” CM added stating that people of Arunachal need to know the reason how Pinch died.
Pinch died under mysterious circumstances while on rafting expedition on 18 November 2017. The family members have been demanding for CBI inquiry claiming his death was a political murder.
Earlier the house also remembered former members Tako Dabi, Jobom Basar, Lokam Tado.
