ZIRO, Mar 13: Lower Subansiri Deputy Commissioner, Kemo Lollen has emphasised the need to inculcate basic civic sense among people for proper implementation of the Swachh Bharat Abhiyan (SBA) and appealed to all stakeholders to work in coordination keeping in view the fund constraints for the program.
He was addressing a district level committee of SBA meeting held in his office chamber here on Monday last.
During the meeting, UPO, Tassar Taro dwelt at length about the measures initiated in the district for successful implementation of the SBA, while PHE & WS Executive Engineer, Kago Habung highlighted the schemes under his disposal, like Individual House Hold Latrine (IHHL), Community Sanitary Complex (CSC) and Solid Liquid Waste Management.
He informed that a beneficiary can avail Rs 20,000 for construction of toilets in their houses, build toilet for cluster of houses under Community Sanitary Complex and construct drainage at water logging areas and common septic tank under Solid Waste Management scheme.
District level committee in-charge for SBA, Kabak Tamla also appealed to the district administration to impose penalty to deter unhealthy disposal of waste, while committee member, Kago Kampu urged the department to explore the management of sanitary napkin waste.
Later, it was decided in the meeting to assign different jurisdictions to the members of the district level committee for mobilization of SBA. (DIPRO)
