Parl Secy appeals public to ask for cash memo

NAHARLALGUN, Mar 18: Parliamentary Secretary for Legal Metrology & Consumers Affairs Laisam Simai appealed to the public to inculcate the habit of asking the shopkeepers for cash memo(s) for the items they purchase.
This will help the consumers in protecting their rights in case of any dispute, Simai said while addressing the valedictory function and prize distribution ceremony of the third ‘Itanagar Mini Marathon’ on Saturday.
He said the department concerned has been making all efforts by organizing seminars and conferences at schools and colleges to raise awareness among the consumer of their rights as enshrined in the Consumer Protection Act.
Controller of Legal Metrology Hokom Ori and Assistant Controller Taba Tabin of the department also addressed the gathering.
