Association alleges violation of DPR

ITANAGAR, Mar 23: The All Itanagar Youth Welfare Association has written to the capital complex deputy commissioner, alleging that the construction of the CC road from the state guest house (formerly CM Bungalow) to Division IV here has been carried out without following the DPR.
In its complaint the association alleged that the total width of earth cutting was supposed to be 1600 mm but the contractor has done only 1000 mm. Also, as per the DPR, the total width of the drain is supposed to be 1400 mm but it is only 900 mm, it alleged.
‘As per DPR, there should be cement concrete shoulder and the drain should be covered with slab. But the PWD has not done any of it and has violated the DPR. Strong action should be initiated against the executing agency, the PWD Division-A and payment should be stopped till the work is completed as per the DPR,’ the association wrote.
The state government sanctioned Rs one crore ninety four lakhs for the construction of the 2.5 km CC road. The project includes construction of CC shoulder, RCC drain with cover, and RCC wall.
When contacted, Capital Complex DC Prince Dhawan informed that an inquiry officer of the rank of a circle officer has been appointed to look into the allegation levelled by the association.
