ACCI lauds NEIDS

ITANAGAR, Mar 26: The Arunachal Chamber of Commerce & Industries (ACCI) has lauded the North East Industrial Development Scheme (NEIDS)-2017 and said that it would have a ‘multi-pronged far-reaching impacts to herald a new era of socio-economic development in this region.’
Approved by Prime Minister Narendra Modi recently, the NEIDS has a financial outlay of Rs 3,000 crore up to March 2020.
In a press communiqué, ACCI president Techi Lala, general secretary Tarh Nachung and chief adviser Pradeep Kumar said that the decision would give a new thrust to set up large scale industries that would create opportunities to generate employment, promote trade and commerce, facilitate backward and forward market linkage for huge agriculture-horticulture products, and immensely contribute to the growth of region’s dismal economy.
‘Moreover, opening up of the historic Ledo to Kunming (China) Stilwell Road through Jairampur via Pangsau Pass in Myanmar would open the window to promote trade and commerce with the South East Asian nations where world’s 50 per cent rich live,’ they added.
