Union seeks allocation of fund for roads in Kamle

ITANAGAR, Mar 27: The All Kamle District Students’ Union (AKDSU) in a representation to the Highway department’s western zone chief engineer on Tuesday sought allocation of fund for repair and maintenance of roads in Kamle district from the Rs 30 crore which has been allocated for the repair and maintenance of the Potin-Pangin road within the current fiscal.
‘Rs 11.03 crore have already sanctioned for maintenance of the Potin-Pangin BOT (annuity) project, following the announcement of Union MoRTH Minister Nitin Gadkari during his visit to Ziro in Lower Subansiri district. But sadly, the sanctioned amount has been used merely for the repair and maintenance of road from Potin to Ziro despite allocation of fund for Potin to Bopi stretches,’the union stated, adding that Kamle district has been deprived of the development package in terms of road connectivity.
Claiming that no fund has been allocated for the repair and maintenance of roads within Kamle district from the Rs 30 crore fund earlier allocated during the recently concluded state’s budget session for repair and maintenance of road from Potin to Pangin, the union demanded equal distribution of funds for development of road communication. It has further threatened to resort to democratic action in case its demands are not met soon.
