Police raids house of peddler, recover drug-like substance

ROING, Mar 28: Acting on a tip off, the Roing unit police, led by Deputy Superintendent of Police (Hqtr) Opir Paron, raided the house of one Sipi Miso in Intaya Village, here on Tuesday.
During the raid, three persons, namely Dastan Linggi, Anut Lama and Md Samir were found to be consuming some cocaine-like substances, the police informed.
“On seeing the police team, they tried to flee from the scene but were pursued, overpowered and arrested”, said a release.
Some cocaine-like substance weighing around 11.22 gms was found and seized from their possession in the presence of a magistrate. Two digital weight machines, four gas lighters and one paper rolled Rs 20 currency note were also seized from their possession.
Further, five mobile handsets and one local dao (machete), which are strongly suspected to have been looted or snatched from the public, were also recovered from their possession.
Reportedly, sensing the presence of the police team, the alleged peddler Sipi Miso, who is also the owner of the house, managed to flee from the scene taking advantage of the darkness.
A case has been registered at the Roing Police Station under section 22(b)/27(a) NDPS Act and endorsed to Sub Inspector Abraham Taying for investigation. The entire case was supervised and monitored by SP Sanjay Kr Sain. (DIPRO)
