TAWANG, Mar 29: Altogether 126 farmers and representatives from allied departments participated in a training programme on ‘Protection of plant varieties and the Farmers’ Rights Act’ organised by the KVK at Zomkhang Hall here on Thursday.
Addressing the participants, Tawang KVK head Dr DS Chhonkar highlighted the objective of the programme, while Home Science specialist Dorjee Yodon Thungon spoke about protection of plant varieties and the Farmers’ Rights Act, and Agronomy specialist CK Singh explained DUS (distinctness, uniformity, stability).
The farmers also shared their problems and had their doubts cleared.
