ITANAGAR, Mar 30: People from every walk of life participated in a blood donation camp organised by the capital complex district administration at the RK Mission Hospital (RKMH) here on 29 March, in collaboration with the Arunachal Voluntary Blood Donors Organization (AVBDO).
Describing blood donation as a noble act, Deputy Commissioner Prince Dhawan urged the AVBDO to continue with its good work.
Acknowledging the contribution of the RKMH in the development of the state, the DC expressed hope that the hospital would continue to offer its services for the betterment of mankind.
He also spoke about the recent incidents involving theft of dustbins, and appealed to the public to refrain from activities that hinder development.
He informed that CCTV cameras and streetlights would be installed soon, as the Arunachal Pradesh Women’s Welfare Association, which was given the task of identifying vulnerable locations for installing CCTV cameras and streetlights, has submitted the list.
Capital SP Sagar Singh Khalsi also lauded the ABVDO for its yeoman service, and assured the participation of the police in every blood donation camp.
The DC later handed over a certificate of registration to AVBDO chairman Ramesh Jeke.
Jeke said people need to change the wrong notions they have about blood donation. Highlighting the benefits of blood donation, he informed that he himself has donated blood 49 times, and urged people to come forward for such causes. (DIPRO)
