ITANAGAR, Apr 10: Arunachal Pradesh on Tuesday observed World Homoeopathy Day, commemorating the 263rd birth anniversary of Dr Christian Friedrich Samuel Hahnemann, who discovered the homoeopathy system of medicine.
Itanagar-based Donyi-Polo Homeopathic Charitable Dispensary (DPHCD) – a sister organization of NGO Donyi-Polo Mission, founded by former chief minister Gegong Apang – celebrated Dr Hahnemann’s birth anniversary in a befitting manner.
Arunachal Pradesh Homoeopathy Council (APHC) Secretary Dr M Dai, along with Dr Riyom Taipodia, nodal officer (homoeopathy) of the AYUSH branch of the health services department, and DPHCD SMO Dr Animesh Mukherjee paid rich tributes to Dr Hahnemann.
Dr Mukherjee gave a brief on the life of Dr Hahnemann, and dwelt on the journey of the DPHCD, “being run under the stewardship of the visionary leader Apang.”
Those present on the occasion lauded the dispensary for rendering yeomen’s services to the people of the state for the past three-and-a-half decades.
The APHC also observed World Homoeopathy Day, with the AYUSH branch of the health services directorate in Naharlagun.
