PASIGHAT, Apr 15: Over 100 youths from East Siang, Siang, Upper Siang, Lower Dibang Valley, and West Siang districts have registered for the pre-recruitment training here to join the armed forces.
The training, being imparted at JN College, is being coordinated by NGO AAUN Foundation in association with the Sigar-based military station and the East Siang district administration.
It is aimed at preparing, motivating and guiding the youths who are going to appear for the army recruitment rally at Jairampur, Changlang, from 10-13 May.
A similar pre-recruitment training was imparted here a few months ago, and eight local youths were selected.
AAUN Foundation secretary Mohanty Panging informed that the focus of the training is on written tests this time, “as a majority of the candidates could not qualify in the written tests last time.” (DIPRO)
