TAWANG, Apr 15: Gorkha XI won the Tawang T20 Champions Cricket League after beating MES by one wicket in a nail-biting final at Gyalwa Tsangyang Gyatso High Altitude Sports Stadium here on Friday.
A disciplined bowling and fielding display by the young Gorkha brigade restricted MES to a paltry 110 runs. Gorkha XI reached their target with one wicket remaining. Poor fielding and undisciplined bowling cost MES the trophy.
Tawang Deputy Commissioner Sang Phuntsok witnessed the contest with Tawang Sports Association (TSA) chairman Namgey Tsering.
Fifteen teams participated in the tournament, which was organized by the TSA. (Tawang Vigilance)
