YUPIA, Apr 17: Panchayat leaders and circle officers from different parts of Papum Pare district participated in a coordination meeting here with Deputy Commissioner In-charge Tabang Bodung on Monday to discuss the celebration of Panchayat Diwas on 24 April.
Bodung urged the participants to celebrate the day in all the blocks and circles in order to create more awareness on ongoing flagships programmes of the government, and their benefits.
ZPC Nabam Aka also stressed the importance of creating public awareness, and said the panchayat leaders should play a pivotal role in educating the people about government programmes.
DPDO JT Toko advocated proper coordination between the panchayat leaders and the line department for successful implementation of flagship programmes, and asked the participants to submit reports on celebration of Panchayat Diwas.
