ITANAGAR, Apr 23: The All Arunachal Pradesh Elementary Teachers’ Association in a representation to the education secretary on Monday sought deletion of Column 7 (b) inserted in the recruitment rules (RR) framed in the notification on 8 October, 2013and published in the 31 October, 2013 edition of the Arunachal Pradesh Gazette.
The association said the column is being applied in the matter of promotion from PRT to TGT in the recruitment rules, which it claimed is unfair.
“As per Column 7 (b) of the RR, the candidates must pass the Teacher Eligibility Test or the Arunachal Pradesh Teacher Eligibility test conducted by the central and the state government respectively, which consequently impedes the promotional avenue of the teachers who have been appointed much earlier,” it said.
