Wind storm lashes Capital, power snapped

ITANAGAR, April 25: A heavy windstorm lashed the capital region for more than an hour leaving behind a trail of destruction this evening. While electricity supply has been snapped at almost all the sectors barring the VIP lines, roofs of several houses are reported to be damaged and trees uprooted.
Rajiv Gandhi Polytechnic, Itanagar is one of the worst effected as at least roofs of 20 government quarters have been damaged. The polytechnic complex was heavily damaged in March 29 storm when the second storm hit this evening. The damage left behind by the rain storm of March 29 is still awaiting repair work in the polytechnic.
