IFCSAP to take up conversion issue with govt

ITANAGAR, May 21: The Indigenous Faith & Cultural Society of Arunachal Pradesh (IFCSAP) has said it will take up with the state government the issue of ‘forceful’ conversion and also press the government for implementation of the Arunachal Pradesh Freedom of Religion Act, 1978, in letter and spirit.
The decision was taken by the IFCSAP during its three-day joint consultative committee meeting, which was held at Naharlagun from 18 May.
The meeting also discussed matters related to uniform designs for indigenous prayer centres, women training and workshop programme, the Aru-nachal Pradesh Freedom of Religion Act, 1978, etc.
The meeting was attended by delegates from all the IFCSAP district units, community-based faith organizations, and sister organizations from entire Arunachal Pradesh.
