ITANAGAR, May 29: A minor boy, who was lodged in the shelter home run by Oju Welfare Association, Naharlagun, after he had lost touch with his family members, was reunited with his family after almost a year.
The boy, Nimulya Kaling, aged about 14 years, was handed over to his parents by the Arunachal Pradesh State Commission for Women-cum-Protection of Child Rights (APSCW-APSCPCR) on 28 May.
On 28 December last year, the APSCW-APSCPCR had circulated press releases to various local dailies, seeking information about the family and the native place of the boy, after the boy was handed over to the commission by the Dibrugarh District Child Protection Unit, Assam, on 4 August, 2017.
The parents of the boy, Ranjan Chakma and Shanti Shoba Chakma, were traced out in Diyun, Dumpani Bl-III, in Changlang district with the help of CDPO N Tangha and anganwadi workers of Bordumsa-Diyun.
