ITANAGAR, Jun 1: The State Information Commission (SIC) has levied a penalty of Rs 25,000 under Section 20(1) of the RTI Act on Tirap Deputy Commissioner-cum-Public Information Officer (PIO) PN Thungon for furnishing incomplete information on the Namsang-Borduria fund to an information seeker.
The commission has directed the PIO to provide before 25 June the information and documents sought by the appellant, failing which the commission said it would invoke Section 20 (2) of the RTI Act against the PIO. The case will be next heard on 25 June.
