TAWANG, Jun 20: The Arunachal Pradesh Youth Congress (APYC) has asserted that “the Congress party will win the next general elections in 2019 and return to power with a bang”.
“People are fed up with the authoritarian politics and intolerance policy of the BJP Government,” said APYC general Secretary Geli Ete while addressing a gathering of over 1000 people, here on June 18.
The APYC president also said that Congress party has shut the door for those MLAs forever, who have deserted the Congress party.
“They have played dirty politics,” he said.
The APYC leader also highlighted the programme and policies of AICC president Rahul Gandhi and APYC president Takam Sanjoy.
One of the demands raised by the people here was to conduct the Panchayat elections, he informed.
The APYC team also visited the Padmashree Guru Thegtse Rimpoche at Tawang and took blessings from him for peace and welfare of the people of Tawang and the state.
It is pertinent to mention here that an APYC team was on a six days tour of Tawang, which culminated at Bomdila on Wednesday. A mass cleanliness drive was organized at the DCC office premises in Bomdila.
On Tuesday, the APYC team celebrated the birthday of AICC president Rahul Gandhi at Manjusree School and distributed sweets, books and other stationery items to the school children.
Monalisa Banerjee, secretary IYC and the party’s in-charge for APYC, accompanied the team during the tour.
