MAHADEVPUR, June 25: The Namsai district BJP unit celebrated the four years completion and achievement of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) government in the Centre here on Monday.
Highlighting various welfare programs and policies of the central government, Deputy Chief Minister, Chowna Mein said that the under the dynamic leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the North East region has received special focus and the results is visible with the accelerated development in terms of infrastructure, especially in air, railway and road connectivity in the region.
He said that Prime Minister Modi’s focus and special attention to the NE region can be proved from the number of times he has visited the North East region since he became the prime minister of India.
“Modi has visited the region more than the total numbers of visits taken by the previous prime ministers in the last 60 years prior to him”, Mein said.
He said that the BJP government in the centre is committed for inclusive growth and development in all fronts. Some of the key initiatives are multi-faceted focus on doubling farmers income, empowering women through legislation, harnessing yuva shakti through skill development, transforming education and furthering sports and sportsmanship through Khelo India, to ease business dealing through GST, urban transformation through smart cities, etc.
He highlighted that the state government under the leadership of Chief Minister Pema Khandu is working hand in hand with the central government for achieving all these objectives in the state and is committed to implement all the PM’s/CM’s flagship programmes and CSS in letter and spirit.
He also informed that the chief minister has also launched CM’s Dashboard and satellite based Geo tagging App through which the Chief Minister and the Govt can monitor the progress, status and implementations of projects by click of a mouse.
Parliamentary Secretary for Planning & Investment, Training and Personnel, Chau Zingnu Namchoom also highlighted welfare programmes and policies initiated by the BJP government.
The purpose of the event was to highlight and make people aware of the various welfare policies and programmes, and initiatives and achievements of the central government under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi in the last four years of the BJP government in the centre, said Chow Sujana Namchoom, district BJP president.
Among others, Junti Singpho, district BJP in-charge, BJP mandal presidents from Lekang, Namsai and Chongkham also spoke on the occasion.
