KITPI, Jul 1: The Tawang district administration organised jan sunvai sammelan at the government secondary school here on Sunday with the objective of bringing administration to the doorsteps of the public.
Fifty-two departments headed by Deputy Commissioner Sang Phuntsok came together and offered services including issuance/renewal of inner line permits, birth certificates, permanent residence and ST certificates, water, power and LPG connections, distribution of LED bulbs under UJALA scheme, bank account opening, enrollment under various social security schemes, Aadhaar enrollment, etc.
Officials of the departments also created awareness on schemes such as the PM Awas Yojana, Swalamban Yojana, Rinn Yojana, etc, and distributed forms and pamphlets.
Gaon burahs and other residents of Kitpi placed their grievances and requirements before the DC, which were further discussed with the heads of the departments concerned for immediate resolution.
Jan sunwai sammelan was also held at Metengliang circle in Anjaw district.
Addressing the gathering, Deputy Commissioner Mamata Riba explained various government schemes, and requested the public to take advantage of this new initiative of the state government.
Besides numerous departments providing services, a plantation drive was held by the forest department at the Metengliang CO office, staff quarters and guesthouse.
DDSE Pokling Tayeng requested parents to be concerned about their children’s education and cooperate with the schools and the education department. He also highlighted flagship programmes of the state and central governments.
Labour Officer J Krong highlighted the facilities available for labourers through the APB&OCWWB, and requested workers to get registered at the district offices, while DPO W Chautang spoke on the new system of accounting and monitoring of schemes to ensure transparency in public service delivery.
KVK junior scientist KH Navin spoke about the agricultural pattern to be followed in the circle, considering the local soil, topography and climatic condition.
Former anchal samiti chairperson Chono Tindya appealed for speeding up the roads in the area under the Pradhan Mantri Gram Sadak Yojana, and former ZPM Khelosa Talyo appealed to the DC for infrastructural development of the CDPO offices in Changlongam and Metengliang circles.
Hayuliang CDPO Kara Juna Tebe informed that jan sunvai sammelans will be held on the first of every month.
Later, newly appointed gaon burahs of Metengliang circle were given certificates along with official red coats.
‘Sarkar aapke dwar’
Meanwhile, hundreds of people from remote areas of Upper Siang district benefited from the ‘Sarkar aapke dwar (government at your doorstep)’ programme organized by the district administration at Mariyang subdivision on Sunday.
Government officers from 24 departments educated the people on various welfare schemes, and provided on-the-spot services.
Deputy Commissioner Duly Kamduk advised the people to avail of government schemes and programmes. He said more such events would be organized in other parts of the district.
The DC also distributed LPG connections to women beneficiaries under the PM Ujjawala Yojana, and facilitated issuance of ST and PR certificates, Aadhaar enrollment, and payment of electricity bills, among others things. (DIPROs)
