AALO, Jul 3: The West Siang district administration has lifted the ban on poultry after receiving assurance from the veterinary department that transported poultry are being closely monitored.
However, transportation of cattle, pigs and goats into the district through the Pasighat-Likabali road continues to be banned to avoid the spread of foot-and-mouth disease.
The administration said on Monday that a month’s notice will be issued to the owners of animals in the nearby villages to keep their animals in safe custody or face fines.
Cattle owners will be fined on a daily basis if they fail to take back the captured animals on time, it said. (DIPRO)
