NAHARLAGUN, Jul 6: Defending champion Capital Complex will face Arunachal United in the inaugural match of the 2nd Arunachal Women’s League, which is beginning at RG Stadium here on Saturday.
One of the strongest teams and one time state level Veteran Cup champions, Arunachal United is making its debut in women’s football this year.
Capital Complex FC, which is one of the most successful football clubs of the state, having produced talents of the likes of Techi Tatra (Aizawl FC), Kojam Beyong (Tata Football Academy) and Techi Amin (Women Sub-junior India International), is looking forward to maintain its unbeaten run in the league.
Club chairman Kipa Takum is positive about the performance of his team in the tournament.
“Preparation has been pretty good. Hoping for good game by our girls,” he said.
The opening ceremony, which will start at 3 pm, will be attended by Sports Authority of Arunachal Vice Chairman Nich Doni, informed Arunachal Football Association secretary Kipa Ajay.
