TEZU, Jul 7: A series of ‘creativity workshops’ for teachers and students were organised jointly by the RIWATCH, the Lohit Youth Library Network and the Lohit district administration at various schools in Roing and Tezu from 2 to 6 July.
Addressing the workshop in Roing, Bharateeya Gyan Peeth Award winning poet Ghanshyam Kumar ‘Devansh’ encouraged the students to “bring out Arunachalee life and its unique cultural traits in writing.
“Hindi teachers must play a leading role in promoting a new Arunachalee Hindi literary genre,” he said.
Responding to the various difficulties reported by the teachers in Hindi language learning and teaching in Arunachal, Devansh said “constant fear in the minds of teachers about students committing errors would be a major obstacle in promoting language levels in their pupils.”
He lauded Taro Sindik, Sahitya Akademi 2017 Yuva Puraskar Award winner in Hindi from Arunachal, for his poem anthology ‘Aksharon Ki Vinti’, and exhorted the teachers and parents to help students to develop the reading habit.
