SAGALEE, Jul 9: The Toru Panchayat Youth Welfare Association has urged the authority concerned to start the construction work for the proposed government engineering college in Toru.
In a representation to the Sagalee ADC, the association said although the NIT for the college had been floated five months ago, no construction work has started as yet.
It claimed that while work on developing the area for the college has damaged the agricultural plots in the adjacent area, the delay has hurt the sentiments of the people, especially the land donors.
The association urged the ADC to direct the executing agency to start the construction work.
The foundation stone for the engineering college was laid by then chief minister Nabam Tuki in August 2015.
