Jan sunwai sammelan held

JOTE, Jul 23: The jan sunwai sammelan (JSS) organized at Government Law College here on Monday by the Papum Pare district administration to facilitate government services to the people witnessed huge participation of people from every walk of life.
The sammelan was inaugurated by Jote head gaon buri Nabam Yasing in the presence of Deputy Commissioner Dr Joram Beda, SP Tumme Amo, HoDs, administrative officers, and others.
Dr Beda visited the all counters and directed the HoDs to facilitate services to the citizens in the best possible ways. At the counter of the fisheries department, the DC and the SP distributed free fish seeds to 10 selected progressive fish farmers from Sangdupota circle. Progressive farmers Nabam Nikter and Gollo Talo were also awarded by the deputy commissioner.
Dr Beda distributed prizes to the winner of the baby show organized by the women & child development department, and to toppers of Class 10 and 12 CBSE exams under Sangdupota circle. He also distributed free LPD connections under the Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojana.
Massive turnout was witnessed at the counter of the health department, where 215 people were registered and screened for lifestyle diseases like diabetes, hypertension and cardiovascular disease. Awareness on malaria, dengue, family planning, IDCF, etc, was also imparted. Fourteen beneficiaries were selected under the Dulari Kanya scheme.
The economics & statistics department received 395 Aadhar applications, while 116 were enrolled and updated. The department also issued 14 birth certificates.
The food & civil supplies department provided services like issuance of ration card application forms, and renewal, transfer and surrender of FPS licences. It also issued five new connections under the PMUY and received 385 applications for new connections.
The APEDA registered 139 beneficiaries and generated Rs 74080 by selling fans, tube lights and bulbs at subsidized rates.
The women & child development department registered 49 beneficiaries under the Pradhan Mantri Matru Vandana Yojana (PMMVY), the Indira Gandhi National Old Age Pension, the Indira Gandhi National Disabled Pension, the Indira Gandhi National Widow Pension and the National Family Benefit Scheme.
Other services provided on the occasion were ST, birth certificates, renewal of arms licences, new account opening, passport verification, learners’ riving licences, status of land allotment, legal awareness, etc.
Over 30 departments offered their services under one roof during the event, benefiting over 1300 people.
The 12 Bn NDRF made a demonstration on relief and rescue operations, while the JSS covered 37 villages under Balijan ADC headquarters. (DIPRO)
