HAYULIANG, Jul 28: The Anjaw District Health Society observed World Hepatitis Day at the government higher secondary school here and the VKV in Amliang on Saturday.
DMO Dr K Perme cautioned the students that the hepatitis screening carried out in the district recently by Hyderabad-based biopharmaceutical company, Biological Evans Ltd, showed 5.8 percent prevalence rate of hepatitis among the screened persons.
He said a team from Dibrugarh ICMR is arriving in Anjaw in the first week of August to ascertain the figure.
Biological Evans Ltd donated rapid screening kits on the occasion.
The principals of both the schools also spoke.
