Committee meets DCM over TAH construction delay

ITANAGAR, Jul 31: Members of the Ziro-Tai-Anando Bagan Highway Committee (ZTAHC), led by former Dumporijo MLA Larbin Nasi, met Deputy Chief Minister Chowna Mein regarding the inordinate delay in construction of the Potin-Pangin stretch of the Trans-Arunachal Highway (TAH).
Joined by advisory board members of the ZTAHC, MLAs Kardo Nyikyor (Likabali), Paknga Bage (Dumporijo) and Tamar Murtem (Raga), the committee submitted a memorandum to the DCM, demanding “early approval and sanction of converted 9 package of said highway from MoRTH; early release of 60 crore fund announced for repair and maintenance of said stretch of road from state head.”
They also conveyed to Mein the hardships faced by the people of Upper Subansiri district and parts of Kamle and Lower Siang districts due to the delay in construction of the TAH.
The committee also sought early survey work at the ground level and preparation of DPR for the Daporijo-Dullungmukh national highway, connecting Anando Bagan.
The committee later said the DCM enumerated the steps being initiated by the state government for early execution of the Potin-Pagin portion of the TAH.
Later, the members also met the PWD commissioner, the secretary to CM, and the PWD highway chief engineer for the same issue.
Other members of the ZTAHC, including PWD SE Dube Dulom, TGT Roke Tamin, Dtr PR Repo Roniya and WRD SE Tadam Ligu also accompanied Nasi.
