ITANAGAR, Aug 7: A four-day training programme on planning, management and administration for head teachers of government upper primary schools got underway at the Dorjee Khandu State Convention Hall here on 7 August.
Inaugurating the programme, Education Minister Honchum Ngandam said it is the first of its kind in the state.
Such training is needed in all organizations, departments, and even in political parties to improve skills, knowledge, experience, and working capabilities, the minister said.
“Teachers should be acquainted with proper planning, management and administration skills through which they can discipline students,” Ngandam said.
He also called for bringing better results in the next CBSE examination, and successful implementation of smart classes in the schools.
Education Secretary Madhu Rani Teotia said the head teachers have the sole responsibility of running their schools properly, for which they need to acquire training in management and planning.
Elementary Education Director Tapi Gao informed that the department is planning to have teachers undergo training outside the state in the near future.
It was also informed that 170 schools of the state have been selected so far for introduction of smart classes.
