ITANAGAR, Aug 22: The Capital Complex administration has banned all kinds of human activities, including bathing and picnic, near the water treatment plant at Senki View near here with immediate effect.
The ban has been imposed as a precautionary measure following reports of incidents of death in the river due to late night picnic or parties and venturing of ‘unwanted elements’ at the river side.
Deputy Commissioner cum District Magistrate Prince Dhawan has directed the executive magistrates and the police to carry out regular patrolling in the area to ensure that there is no breach of law and order in the area.
Meanwhile, Itanagar EAC Hengo Basar, along with Itanagar CO Heera Panggeng, OC T Bage and officers from the CRPF on Wednesday inspected the water treatment plant and water sources at Senki View.
The EAC informed that a banner would be displayed for public about the restriction imposed by the deputy commissioner cum district magistrate of Itanagar-Capital Complex.
In another order, the Capital Complex deputy commissioner has directed the executive magistrates to conduct regular drives against illegal gambling and illegal sale of liquor/IMFL, along with police personnel and officials from the Tax and Excise department in the Capital Complex.
Further, the DC informed that during the checks conducted on Wednesday, the Itanagar EAC sealed ‘The Green Street Bar’ for one month for violation of regulatory rules by keeping the bar open in wee hours that resulted in breach of law and order.
He further stressed that the district administration has zero tolerance against such violators and strict action would be taken against the defaulters. (DIPRO)
