APCC launches donation drive for flood-hit Kerala

ITANAGAR, Aug 27: The Arunachal Pradesh Congress Committee (APCC) on Monday appealed to the people of the state to donate to help the flood-hit people in Kerala.
The APCC launched a donation drive on 26 August by setting up donation boxes at Rajiv Gandhi Bhawan here and all the 23 DCC offices in the state, an APCC release said. Twenty-six donation boxes have been set up across the state, which will remain open till 30 August, it said.
The collected amounts would be handed over to the Rajiv Gandhi National Relief and Welfare Fund by APCC president Takam Sanjoy.

NSS conducts donation drive

In West Siang district, the NSS unit of Kamki-based Donyi Polo Government College organized a donation drive for Kerala at Kamba and in the college campus, as part of the college’s social responsibility programme. The camp was supervised by NSS programme officer Dr Teshi Sohang.
Meanwhile, the Arunachal Pradesh Rural Bank Officers’ Association informed in a release that members of the association contributed a day’s salary, amounting to a total of Rs 1,32,326, to the Kerala CM’s Disaster Relief Fund.
