LONGDING, Aug 29: The Wancho Students’ Union (WSU) demanded for re-introduction of bus services between Kanubari and Khonsa.
In a memorandum to the Kanubari ADC, the WSU said that public transport bus service between the two districts was introduced in 1990, but it was discontinued in 2012 without any specific reason.
The WSU also demanded re-introduction of APST Sumo service from Kanubari to Longding.
The union said that a Sumo service under APST was introduced between Kanubari and Longding in 2016 for the convenience of the people, but “this service too has been discontinued since last year”, and demanded that the ADC take up the matter with the authorities concerned to resume the bus and Sumo services.
