DAPORIJO, Aug 29: Upper Subansiri District Election Officer (DEO) Danish Ashraf asked all EROs and AEROs to complete election related work as per schedule fixed by the Election Commission of India.
The DEO said this while chairing a meeting on summery revision of photo electoral rolls at his office chamber.
Addressing EROs, AEROs and representatives of various political parties, Ashraf briefed on the role of BLOs and urged the representatives of the political parties to appoint booth level agents (BLAs) to assist the BLOs during the filing of claims and objections in the revision process.
EAC Tage Tatung gave emphasis on complete enrolment of young electors, who would be attaining the age of 18 years on the first day of January, 2019.
Highlighting the various stages of revision programme as fixed by the ECI, he directed the EROs and AEROs to carry out the revision activities in a time bound manner.
The EAC called for verification and removal of dead electors and shifted voters for an error-free electoral roll.
The ECI has launched National Voters Service Portal (NVSP), wherein all electoral registration, correction and deletion applications can be made online, the EAC informed, and asked the EROs and AEROs to encourage the electors to avail this facility for submission of forms online.
A discussion on ERONet was also held during the meeting.
