PASIGHAT, Sep 9: Power Minister Tamiyo Taga switched on a newly-installed high-mast light at the Central Donyi Polo Gangging here on Sunday.
Later, addressing a public meeting at the gangging’s Engo Takar cultural hall, the minister said the installation of the high-mast light would facilitate “quality light during nighttime to expedite the ongoing erection work on the 20 feet high statue of Guru Golgi Bote Talom Rukbo, so that it can be unveiled on 2nd October.”
He appealed to the believers of Donyi-Poloism to donate generously to preserve and promote their own religion, tradition and culture.
Taga also appreciated local MLA Kaling Moyong for the developmental activities undertaken by the MLA.
Earlier in the day, Taga visited the KGBV here and assured to provide solar light system for the school.
Moyong thanked the minister for the installation of high-mast lights in the Donyi Polo Gangging, the giidi notko (festival ground), and the Dangaria Baba temple areas.
He highlighted various achievements and the status of ongoing projects, and assured to bring more development to the best of his abilities. (DIPRO)
