NIRJULI, Sep 23: A ‘career counselling-cum-guidance programme’ was held by Yachuli MLA Likha Saaya at his residence here on Saturday evening to encourage the APPSC prelims qualified aspirants of his assembly constituency.
Saaya also awarded cash incentives of Rs 50,000 to each of the 42 candidates.
“This is indeed a moment of great pride for Yachuli constituency, and this programme is to encourage the prelims qualifier for having set an example for our youths, particularly our young women,” he said, and conveyed his appreciation to the parents.
Saaya also announced to further support and encourage those who clear the mains examination.
Rashtrapati Bhavan Joint Commissioner of Police Robin Hibu, Papum Pare DC Dr Joram Beda, Under-secretary Likha Tejji, and orthodontist Dr Mukesh Jaitley, who were the resource persons, spoke on the importance of proper choice of career and being specific in choosing one’s subject based on one’s potential and interest, instead of listening to others’ opinion.
They exhorted the candidates to follow the three mantras of “wisdom, patience, and faith” to shape their careers.
Students of various colleges and their family members also attended the programme.
‘Test series’ held
Meanwhile, as many as 45 APCS mains aspirants attended a ‘practical test series’ conducted by Seva Bharati Arunachal Pradesh in collaboration with Pune-based institute Jnana Prabodhini.
While 31 aspirants attended the programme at Donyi Polo BEd College, 14 took part in a ‘practical exam demonstration’ at Sewa Dham Centre in Lekhi village.
