KHONSA, Sep 23: Shito Ryu Club, Jully (Itanagar) won the 7th state level Shito-Ryu Seiko Kai Karate-Do Championship while Shito Ryu HQs Club, Chimpu, bagged the runner-up title.
Team Changlang was adjudged the ‘best disciplined team’.
APEDA Chairman Wanglam Sawin attended the concluding function here this evening and distributed the prizes to the champion club, the runner-up team and the individual medal winners.
He spoke about the benefits of playing sports.
“Sports inculcate team spirit, boost self confidence, help increase concentration and focus,” Sawin said. He also highlighted the mental and physical benefits of playing sports.
Col Robin Singh of the 16 Assam Rifles encouraged the young karatekas to participate in such events on a regular basis to enhance their skills and techniques.
The event was organized by the All Tirap Dist Shito Ryu Karate-Do Association under the aegis of the Arunachal Shito-Ryu Seiko Kai Karate-Do Association.
