RAGA, Sep 24: The Maru Welfare Society (MWS) has urged the Lower Subansiri district administration and police to expedite the suspected murder case of one Pumcho Tarum, who was found dead under mysterious circumstances at his home here on 5 September.
Although an FIR was lodged the very next morning of the incident and the postmortem also done, “nothing has come out of the investigation,” the MWS said.
In the FIR lodged by the deceased’s brother at the Raga police station, the family expressed suspicion that the wife of the deceased, along with accomplices, was involved in Tarum’s murder.
The FIR stated that Tarum was found on the floor with cut injuries on his face and other parts of the body.
While Tarum’s wife is in custody as a suspect, the MWS has sought the medical reports to ascertain the cause of his death. It said punishment as per the law should be awarded to those involved.
