LONGDING, Oct 1: The Wancho, Nocte, and Tangsa student unions of Tirap, Changlang and Longding districts have urged the state government to accelerate the recruitment process for constables in the APP for which the advertisements were floated by the police headquarters in Itanagar.
In a joint representation to the home minister, the unions stated that five separate advertisements have been floated since August 2017 for recruitment under various categories in the APP.
“But no recruitment has been held for any of the advertised posts, which has raised questions on the credibility and competence of the department concerned,” they said.
“Such delay in the recruitment process is not only demoralizing the youths but also creating a sense of frustration,” they said, adding that “the easygoing attitude of the authorities concerned will definitely create impatience among the youths.”
The unions urged the state government to initiate necessary steps to start the recruitment process without further delay.
